Hair inspiration courtesy of Bumble and Bumble.

Bumble and Bumble began as a small salon in downtown Manhattan. Since then it has gone on to become one of the most coveted and trend-setting hair lines, and a mainstay of fashion week. One of the latest products to come out of this bleeding edge company is Bb. Texture Crème. The advertising campaign alone instantly ensnares the susceptible consumerist seeking that elusive ‘artfully undone’ look. The visual is all urban grit with striking black and white imagery, of that insouciant brand of model; all smudged eyeliner and imperfectly dishevelled bed hair. The video campaign is just as contemporary, with a heavy underground base that does all the speaking.  The product itself claims to give ‘hair that elusive, undone-yet-done quality, with a hint of grit, hold and a tousled, shine-free finish.’  It comes in a 150ml tube with an innovative screw lid, that when twisted reveals the opening, and then can be resealed to prevent irritating cases of cosmetic explosion in your suitcase. It comes out of the tube as a thick glue-like cream, although once dry it feels appropriately gritty and textured. It also makes for the perfect foundation for other on-trend hairstyles such as an unkempt and wispy bun or a thick milk maid plait.
