Claire Huish Photography.

Claire Huish is a fashion photographer based in the UK who gained her undergraduate degree from The Arts University College in Bournemouth. She has since gone on to win the Young Fashion Photographer of the Year in 2009. Her beautiful, etheral photography is often interested in liminal spaces; the rugged cliffs of Bournemouth, the ege of Brighton pier or wild lavender fields that overspill onto the roadside. Displaced objects such as a bath tub is shot against a backdrop of overgrown nettles and wildflowers, while a wrought-iron chair provides a plinth for a nymph like figure. The photographer cites Degas, Klimt and the Pre-Raphealite brotherhood as her artistic references, and her photos certainly make more than a passing allusion to the whimsical beauty of Millais or Rossetti. The tumbling hair of a young girl is bestrewn with a crown of dried flowers and leaves as she resides amongst the bullrushes that grow on the banks of the lake. Irises, roses and foxgloves provide bursts of vivid colour against her ivory floor-skimming dress; and with these descriptions the mythical narrative is complete.
